After a rather tough play, Fernetbache's Severo Goren got a free kick in the 13th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Lorenzo Caradaro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nestor Benvido. MAR-RA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lorenzo Caradaro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Fernetbache's Modesto Naike got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Armando Bazil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Astor Belmiro in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Fernetbache's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Buinton came free, but Armando Bazil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Fernetbache supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fernetbache would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
