Cristian Evangelista might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Omar Urti. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Evangelista ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 23rd minute Anibal Camerino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Omar Urti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Domingo Papo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Omar Urti. Ocampo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Domingo Papo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. After 35 minutes of play, River Plate.'s Anibal Camerino made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Omar Urti was left in no man's land by his defense there! Omar Urti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaac Fortun in the 39th minute of play. River Plate.'s Cristian Evangelista got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 45th minute Domingo Papo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Omar Urti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Aurelio Raphael had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Astor Veronica made a kick off. Ocampo's Omar Urti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anibal Camerino in the 52nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Domingo Papo managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Domingo Papo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Omar Urti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Anibal Camerino kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Omar Urti. That made the score 0-7 in the 55 minute of play. Anibal Camerino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omar Urti having to interfere. Isidro Tristan was shown his second yellow card after 59 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of River Plate. booed when Ocampo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidro Tristan didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Leandro Ishmael fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ocampo's protests and gave Leandro Ishmael a yellow card for diving instead. 71 minutes into the match, Ocampo's goal looked a bit too open when Anibal Camerino came free, but Omar Urti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anibal Camerino struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Omar Urti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Omar Urti didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Domingo Papo went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-10 was the resulting score.
