Victor Pacho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Segundo Lesardo. Guampachata's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Eustaquio Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aquiles Diaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Robustiano Lizardi might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Segundo Lesardo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robustiano Lizardi ran back to his position shaking his head. When Angelino Donostia came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Gorostiaga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angelino Donostia couldn't finish the play. Guampachata's Segundo Lesardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robustiano Lizardi in the 28th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Barrionuevo during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 29th match minute, Guampachata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Barrionuevo to maneuver through the defense. 33 minutes into the match, Robustiano Lizardi notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Guampachata's Segundo Lesardo. Segundo Lesardo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Angelino Donostia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Segundo Lesardo having to interfere. Angelino Donostia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aquiles Diaz to make the kick off. Guampachata's Aquiles Diaz got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Robustiano Lizardi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evelio Loco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eustaquio Domingues having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Gorostiaga's Robustiano Lizardi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Segundo Lesardo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Angelino Donostia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Segundo Lesardo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Segundo Lesardo came out of the goal and Jeronimo Normando tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Segundo Lesardo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Angelino Donostia's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Angelino Donostia was extremely unlucky when he, in the 73rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Angelino Donostia struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Segundo Lesardo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gorostiaga. Angelino Donostia hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match.
