Arnaldo Cugat might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rene Satordi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnaldo Cugat ran back to his position shaking his head. Enrique Jorrin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Jeronimo Rutenio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rene Satordi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Nofre, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Arnaldo Cugat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute Julian Nofre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Satordi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rene Satordi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Nofre in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes in the game, Enrique Jorrin fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jeronimo Rutenio having to interfere. Jeronimo Rutenio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudio Guillelme went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudio Guillelme in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jeronimo Rutenio saved Chuchucaruana from getting behind. In the 32nd minute, Aquilino Guter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 36 minutes, Julian Nofre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chuchucaruana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julian Nofre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 39 minutes into the game, Hector Mendez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chuchucaruana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hornillos the free kick. In the 40th match minute, Chuchucaruana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hector Mendez to maneuver through the defense. 41 minutes into the match, Chuchucaruana's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Jorrin came free, but Jeronimo Rutenio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. One of Hornillos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chuchucaruana:s goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnaldo Cugat during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Nofre to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Hornillos's Tomas Jeraldo got a free kick in the 55th minute. Julian Nofre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th match minute, Hornillos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damian Maxin to maneuver through the defense. Rene Satordi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Nofre in the 68th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Hornillos's Enrique Jorrin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jeronimo Rutenio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arnaldo Cugat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Chuchucaruana's zone, Claudio Guillelme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeronimo Rutenio came out of the goal and Claudio Guillelme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Nofre in the 91st minute of play forced Hornillos's goalkeeper Rene Satordi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Severiano Ibañez's late challenge caught a Chuchucaruana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Severiano Ibañez helped the player get up and apologised. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
