The audience was convinced that Danilo Evangelista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francisco Sansone was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Claudio Clemencin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacobo Firman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rene Ler got free with Claudio Clemencin in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Balasi hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After 22 played minutes, Las Marietas FC's Eleuterio Txilar shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Francisco Sansone came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Las Marietas FC reached it. Francisco Sansone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Evangelista, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. With his leg Claudio Clemencin managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when CABJ 1905's Rene Ler fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Francisco Sansone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaudencio Arnas in the 29th minute of play. After having played for 30 minutes, Rene Ler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CABJ 1905's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rene Ler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Las Marietas FC's zone, Rene Ler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudio Clemencin came out of the goal and Rene Ler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jacobo Firman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 48 minutes of play, Las Marietas FC's Danilo Evangelista made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francisco Sansone was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Las Marietas FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Danilo Evangelista made a kick off. In the 56th minute, Rene Ler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jacobo Firman struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Claudio Clemencin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CABJ 1905. The supporters of Las Marietas FC booed when CABJ 1905 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Crispo didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Danilo Evangelista in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francisco Sansone saved CABJ 1905 from getting behind. Gaudencio Arnas was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 67th minute. Las Marietas FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 69th minute Danilo Evangelista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Sansone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, CABJ 1905's Braulio Quirze got a free kick in the 69th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Evangelista in the 71st minute of play forced CABJ 1905's goalkeeper Francisco Sansone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rene Ler hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. If Gaudencio Arnas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 83 minutes, Rene Ler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CABJ 1905's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rene Ler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leonides Baraquiel charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonides Baraquiel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Las Marietas FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
