The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4thth minute of the game Elvio Cordario who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estudiantes de la palta's Melquiades Paez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Club Sportivo Ben Hur's Cesar Tonio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Club Sportivo Ben Hur from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Club Sportivo Ben Hur getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Leonides Peru hit a great ball. Elpidio Paublo, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After having played for 14 minutes, Domingos Naelio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Sportivo Ben Hur's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingos Naelio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 15th minute, Elvio Cordario made a precise shot to the right of Melquiades Paez. Estudiantes de la palta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Higinio Afonso kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. With a little luck, Club Sportivo Ben Hur's Cesar Tonio got control of the ball when Fulgencio Veto tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Fulgencio Veto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melquiades Paez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Naelio in the 33rd minute of play. If Aurelio Filipo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Telesforo in the 39th minute of play forced Club Sportivo Ben Hur's goalkeeper Cesar Tonio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fulgencio Veto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesar Tonio having to interfere. Aurelio Filipo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Melquiades Paez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elvio Cordario in the 46th minute of play. Fulgencio Veto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cesar Tonio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 49th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Aurelio Filipo made the kick off in the second half. Aurelio Filipo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Cesar Tonio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fulgencio Veto in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cesar Tonio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fulgencio Veto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Cesar Tonio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute Fulgencio Veto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesar Tonio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Aurelio Filipo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 73 played minutes Club Sportivo Ben Hur got a freekick which was hit by Higinio Afonso. 78 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de la palta's goal looked a bit too open when Leonides Peru came free, but Melquiades Paez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elvio Cordario who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Melquiades Paez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Estudiantes de la palta's goalkeeper Melquiades Paez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Domingos Naelio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melquiades Paez having to interfere. Aurelio Filipo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Club Sportivo Ben Hur's Leonides Peru got a free kick in the 88th minute. Club Sportivo Ben Hur's Cesar Tonio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelio Filipo in the 92nd minute of play. After 92 minutes, Guillermo Montae mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Sportivo Ben Hur and the Estudiantes de la palta players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd minute, Guillermo Montae hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 95 played minutes Club Sportivo Ben Hur got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Montae. In the 97th minute, Aurelio Filipo made a precise shot to the right of Cesar Tonio. Club Sportivo Ben Hur's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
