Astor Artizar scored 1-0 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sixto Dei, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Copacabana AFC's zone, Placido Bonadona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sixto Dei came out of the goal and Placido Bonadona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Fabricio Dodorol fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Copacabana AFC's protests and gave Fabricio Dodorol a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Copacabana AFC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Fabricio Dodorol hit a great ball. If Astor Artizar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonel Lamberto charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonel Lamberto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 39th match minute, Copacabana AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonel Lamberto to maneuver through the defense. Velezano FC's Placido Bonadona was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 41st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Velezano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Orain came free, but Hector Urtzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Francisco Orain made a kick off. Hector Urtzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Orain, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Copacabana AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
