Soto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laureano Bastia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 30th match minute, Palmeritas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcial Omero to maneuver through the defense. Federico Pietro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laureano Bastia went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score.

During this time Palmeritas FC's players had a chance to rest. 65 minutes into the match, Soto's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Raulo came free, but Aquilino Gaueko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Emanuel Raulo came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Palmeritas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Raulo couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Palmeritas FC's zone, Erubiel Balasi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Federico Pietro came out of the goal and Erubiel Balasi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Palmeritas FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Soto's performance. The match ended with a win for Soto.
