If Natalio Gabirel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Uriel Eleazar scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Venancio Lauro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Esquina FC booed when Zárate AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aureliano Todor didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 13 minutes, Gervasio Montrel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esquina FC and the Zárate AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Esquina FC's Venancio Lauro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uriel Eleazar in the 18th minute of play. In the 22nd minute Natalio Gabirel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Venancio Lauro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pablo Nofre during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 23 played minutes Zárate AFC got a freekick which was hit by Pablo Nofre. In the 25th minute, Uriel Eleazar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the game Jose Niva kicked a great long shot which passed Conrado Urre straight ahead into the goal, Result 1-1. One couldn't see Jose Niva behind all of his teammates who surrounded to congratulate him. Conrado Urre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Orlandus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Zárate AFC's goalkeeper Conrado Urre, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zacarias Vargas got free with Conrado Urre in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zacarias Vargas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Conrado Urre made a huge save. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Zárate AFC's goalkeeper Conrado Urre, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Esquina FC's Amancio Orlandus got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Uriel Eleazar made a kick off. Zárate AFC were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Esquina FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Maximo Darien took the corner. With his leg Venancio Lauro managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Zárate AFC's Natalio Gabirel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Zárate AFC's Marcos Opilano got a free kick in the 59th minute. When Marcos Opilano was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 63 minutes had been played. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zacarias Vargas in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Conrado Urre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 71 minutes, Zacarias Vargas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esquina FC and the Zárate AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 71st minute, Zacarias Vargas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute, Amancio Orlandus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Venancio Lauro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Natalio Gabirel in the 85th minute. Natalio Gabirel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Venancio Lauro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Venancio Lauro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aureliano Todor in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute of the match, Natalio Gabirel got a very nice opportunity to score, but Venancio Lauro was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Natalio Gabirel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Venancio Lauro having to interfere. Jose Niva took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 98th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Conrado Urre. Zárate AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
