An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeledon Emenon in the 6th minute of play forced Club Atletico Parana's goalkeeper Freddy Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teodoro Froylan kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Parana's goal looked a bit too open when Zeledon Emenon came free, but Freddy Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zeledon Emenon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Freddy Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Freddy Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnaldo Abaurre in the 19th minute of the match. In the 20th match minute, Club Atletico Parana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Froylan to maneuver through the defense. Zeledon Emenon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddy Fernandes having to interfere. Club Atletico Parana's Lorenzo Vidal got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Club Atletico Parana's Wilfredo Orlanda slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eustacio Quirze. That made the score 1-0 after 31 minutes of play. Zeledon Emenon scored 1-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Freddy Fernandes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Totoral's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Wilfredo Orlanda 46 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilfredo Orlanda to make the kick off. If Arnaldo Abaurre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th match minute, Club Atletico Parana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Blai to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute of the match Justino Urtsua sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Freddy Fernandes skillfully saved the ball. Club Atletico Parana's Freddy Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Abaurre in the 61st minute of play. David Blai hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Wilfredo Orlanda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eustacio Quirze having to interfere. With a little luck, Club Atletico Parana's Freddy Fernandes got control of the ball when Zeledon Emenon tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Club Atletico Parana getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Donato Acuña hit a great ball. Justino Urtsua didn't quite understand what happened when in the 92 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Totoral's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
