The supporters of Galle F.C. booed when Mercedes AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustino Misael didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Galle F.C. getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Pedro Lauren hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Acuña was the one to do the kick off. Ignacio Behe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ignacio Behe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Galle F.C.'s Adolfo Rodas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustino Misael in the 58th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Galle F.C.'s zone, Bonifacio Vimaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Rodas came out of the goal and Bonifacio Vimaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emilio Gitano hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Galle F.C.'s Delmar Leobardo was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 67th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Galle F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Joel Acuña came free, but Adolfo Rodas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernabe Lluciano kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the game, Maximo Atarrabi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galle F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mercedes AFC the free kick. After 80 played minutes Galle F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Maximo Atarrabi. After having played for 81 minutes, Joel Acuña managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mercedes AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Acuña was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Galle F.C. defense, Faustino Misael kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adolfo Rodas. The Galle F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adolfo Rodas should have stopped the shot. Joel Acuña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Rodas having to interfere. Bonifacio Vimaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Galle F.C. were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Mercedes AFC's much stronger midfield.
