The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aurelio Sabino during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Salomillo AC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 8th minute. Penalty! Ricardo Ibar placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Ariel Abancens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Geronimo Matei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Salomillo AC's goalkeeper Geronimo Matei, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leocadio Toranzo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santo Galo in the 18th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Santo Galo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leocadio Toranzo was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Ariel Abancens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Geronimo Matei made a huge save. Julio Acevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Ariel Abancens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geronimo Matei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clemente Goi, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute Clemente Goi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geronimo Matei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Clemente Goi to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Aráoz booed when Salomillo AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Erasto didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Aráoz had played much better football throughout.
