The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Samuel Ponce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bonifacio Goi in the 9th minute of play forced Provoleta FC's goalkeeper Cristo Leoncio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carmelo Gilabert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pagancillo FC's Carmelo Gilabert got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hermengildo Amaya charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hermengildo Amaya the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Provoleta FC booed when Pagancillo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermengildo Amaya didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emilio Bembe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaac Eguen having to interfere. 29 minutes into the game, Carmelo Gilabert cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Cristo Leoncio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Emilio Bembe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Provoleta FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Tomas Rio hit a great ball. Carmelo Gilabert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristo Leoncio having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Carmelo Gilabert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jimeno Frisco kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emilio Bembe made a kick off. Cristo Leoncio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bonifacio Goi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Carmelo Gilabert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute Emilio Bembe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaac Eguen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Bembe in the 73rd minute of play forced Pagancillo FC's goalkeeper Isaac Eguen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristo Leoncio made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Carmelo Gilabert sent off a good shot on target. Carmelo Gilabert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristo Leoncio having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Provoleta FC's zone, Bonifacio Goi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristo Leoncio came out of the goal and Bonifacio Goi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Provoleta FC's Silverio Vergaray got a free kick in the 81st minute. Carmelo Gilabert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Cristo Leoncio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Provoleta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bonifacio Goi came free, but Cristo Leoncio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristo Leoncio didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 87th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. With a little luck, Provoleta FC's Cristo Leoncio got control of the ball when Carmelo Gilabert tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cristo Leoncio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bonifacio Goi, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Pagancillo FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
