The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rodolfo Inocente showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Venancio Bernat in the 5th minute of the match. A collision led to LEON FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Mateo Felo hit a great ball. LEON FC's Rodolfo Inocente proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save LEON FC from getting a goal against them. LEON FC were furious when Jeremias Elixio was red carded, 17 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 17 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for LEON FC! After 22 played minutes LEON FC got a freekick which was hit by Santo Iliana. In the 27th minute, Teofilo Arce left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The LEON FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Mateo Felo's late challenge caught a José Mourinho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mateo Felo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of José Mourinho booed when LEON FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateo Felo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Venancio Bernat in the 39th minute of play forced LEON FC's goalkeeper Rodolfo Inocente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodolfo Inocente came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by José Mourinho's Claudio Romildo. But to his dismay, Claudio Romildo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Rodolfo Inocente made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudio Romildo in the 44th minute. Rodolfo Inocente made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Claudio Romildo sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Venancio Bernat was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Claudio Romildo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rodolfo Inocente was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. In the 55th minute, José Mourinho's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gavino Navarro fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Gavino Navarro struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Fausto Cibran didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LEON FC. Claudio Romildo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fausto Cibran was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Victorino Tadzio. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ariel Cuartio during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 87th match minute, José Mourinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ariel Cuartio to maneuver through the defense. Victorino Tadzio was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 88th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Gavino Navarro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 93 played minutes José Mourinho got a freekick which was hit by Dario Mendebal. In the 94th minute, Victorino Tadzio sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and José Mourinho's Fausto Cibran didn't even have to move. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. José Mourinho were victorious despite being under pressure from LEON FC for much of the match.
