An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogelio Oliverios in the 16th minute of play forced Poblet AFC's goalkeeper Marciano Gumaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marciano Gumaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidro Florinio, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. When Edelmiro Urtsin fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poblet AFC's protests and gave Edelmiro Urtsin a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Poblet AFC's Edelmiro Urtsin got a free kick in the 21st minute. It became 1-0 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. A collision led to Ferro de Pico getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Esteban Elivareo hit a great ball. Efrain Pueblo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 34th minute. Poblet AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Poblet AFC's Orlando Escobar got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of Ferro de Pico:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Poblet AFC:s goal. After 44 played minutes Ferro de Pico got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Giraldo. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Isidro Florinio made a kick off. During the 55th minute of the match Edelmiro Urtsin completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Edelmiro Urtsin a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game.
