Higinio Bikendi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cirilo Geleberto in the 15th minute of the match. A collision led to La Mejor Vida getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Anier Misael hit a great ball. After 19 minutes of play, Esquel's Tadeo Astrada made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Esquel's supporters rose to their feet, but Tadeo Astrada was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samuel George breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 37th minute Donato Teyo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel George saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
