Higinio Bikendi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paolo Nayely, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Severino Macerio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Higinio Bikendi made a huge save. 19 minutes into the match, Sporting Club FC's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Teyo came free, but Osvaldo Paulin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pablo Chale during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Osvaldo Paulin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tadeo Astrada went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Esquel getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Gonzalo Gorbea hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Esquel's zone, Paolo Nayely stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Higinio Bikendi came out of the goal and Paolo Nayely tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 30 played minutes Esquel got a freekick which was hit by Hector Eguerdi. When Sporting Club FC's Paolo Nayely in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Esquel's goalie prevented a goal. Tadeo Astrada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Paulin having to interfere. Severino Macerios short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Higinio Bikendi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 37 minutes, Tadeo Astrada managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esquel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeo Astrada was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Sporting Club FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Esquel were winning 0-1.

Severino Macerio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Higinio Bikendi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Higinio Bikendi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Macerio in the 62nd minute of play. Severino Macerio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Higinio Bikendi having to make a save. When Severino Macerio came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Sporting Club FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Macerio couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paolo Nayely in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Higinio Bikendi saved Esquel from getting behind. Higinio Bikendi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paolo Nayely in the 71st minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Lucio Nafarroa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Paolo Nayely managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting Club FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Paolo Nayely was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Higinio Bikendi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paolo Nayely fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Higinio Bikendi having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Severino Macerio made a precise shot to the right of Higinio Bikendi. Esquel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After 86 minutes of play, Sporting Club FC's Paolo Nayely made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Higinio Bikendi was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 90th minute Severino Macerio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Bikendi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 97 minutes into the match, Esquel's goal looked a bit too open when Paolo Nayely came free, but Higinio Bikendi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Sporting Club FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
