Spectators: 7243 (Terracing: 5433, Seating: 1666, VIP seats: 144) Retrogrados F.C's Fausto Mergildo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Mergildo in the 4th minute of play forced Sarmiento's goalkeeper Edelmiro Oso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Retrogrados F.C's Fausto Mergildo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edelmiro Oso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Sarmiento's zone, Sebastian Cruz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edelmiro Oso came out of the goal and Sebastian Cruz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute, one of Sarmiento:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sarmiento. After having played for 37 minutes, Fausto Mergildo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Retrogrados F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fausto Mergildo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38th minute, Sebastian Cruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Fausto Mergildo took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Edelmiro Oso to make any attempt to save it. Sebastian Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Conrado Orlin to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Arias during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 74th minute Fausto Mergildo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edelmiro Oso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Conrado Orlin charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Conrado Orlin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some careless play in the Sarmiento defense, Daniel Hondo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edelmiro Oso. The Sarmiento fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edelmiro Oso should have stopped the shot. When Sebastian Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Retrogrados F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Cruz couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Mergildo in the 80th minute of play forced Sarmiento's goalkeeper Edelmiro Oso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Fausto Mergildo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sarmiento getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Tiburcio Ortle hit a great ball. Sarmiento's Edelmiro Oso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Mergildo in the 88th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Fausto Mergildo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edelmiro Oso. Sarmiento's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fausto Mergildo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Edelmiro Oso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Mergildo in the 95th minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the Retrogrados F.C players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
