To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 40 minutes into the match, Despiertos.F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Ceferino Loramendi came free, but Salvador Llorienzo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Fernando Elequemedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dante Ospetsu during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 45 minutes into the game, one of Palpalá FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maximino Acosta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 80th minute Julian Peruanton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Elixio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ceferino Loramendi came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Palpalá FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ceferino Loramendi couldn't finish the play. Raimundo Elixio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Peruanton's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. 94 minutes into the game, Fernando Elequemedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
