The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fulgencio Garin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Pirro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Erasmo Nofre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erasmo Nofre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Millrick having to interfere. Erasmo Nofre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erasmo Nofre's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Narciso Millrick read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Atletico Rafaela's Aquiles Clodio got his second yellow card of the match in the 46th minute. The referee ordered Aquiles Clodio off the ground. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Uriel Estavan held his arms out in dispair when he, after a nice solo performance in the 48th minute, finished the attack by shooting the ball on the wrong side of the right post. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nicolas Pirro to strike the kick off in the second half. Fulgencio Garin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicanor Quirze, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 56 minutes into the game, Uriel Estavan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atletico Rafaela the free kick. Fulgencio Garin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate. If Nicanor Quirze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 83rd minute, Erasmo Nofre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Pirro in the 84th minute of play forced Atletico Rafaela's goalkeeper Fulgencio Garin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nicolas Pirro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. River Plate's Nicolas Pirro got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fulgencio Garin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicolas Pirro's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
