But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dario Costante couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Atletico Rafaela booed when Stalkers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnulfo Silvanito didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Erasmo Nofre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, Atletico Rafaela's goal looked a bit too open when Americo Asteri came free, but Fulgencio Garin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Norberto Chan kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. If Erasmo Nofre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Americo Asteri made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Carmelo Benitez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeronimo Lucila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erasmo Nofre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeronimo Lucila having to interfere. Carmelo Benitez might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeronimo Lucila. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carmelo Benitez ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match clock showed 63 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Carmelo Benitez sped through Stalkers's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jeronimo Lucila. Jeronimo Lucila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Nofre in the 72nd minute of play. When Norberto Chan fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stalkers's protests and gave Norberto Chan a yellow card for diving instead. After 79 played minutes Stalkers got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Chan. Erasmo Nofre took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jeronimo Lucila. Jeronimo Lucila dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. If Americo Asteri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
