River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolas Pirro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeronimo Lucila breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 8th match minute, Stalkers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnulfo Silvanito to maneuver through the defense. If Dario Costante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Americo Asteri came free, but Narciso Millrick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Edgardo Benino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Cristian Ramirez got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 25th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicanor Quirze to maneuver through the defense. Geronimo Goiz's late challenge caught a Stalkers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonas Chorche, 28 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The attack was good, but when Americo Asteri in the 30th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Stalkers's Dario Costante got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jeronimo Lucila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicanor Quirze, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Dario Costante who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Narciso Millrick when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Stalkers's Jeronimo Lucila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Pirro in the 43rd minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Nicolas Pirro made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Costante came free, but Narciso Millrick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 57 played minutes Stalkers got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Matei. Stalkers's Jeronimo Lucila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Pirro in the 58th minute of play. Narciso Millrick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Costante in the 61st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicolas Pirro in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jeronimo Lucila saved Stalkers from getting behind. Dario Costante's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Narciso Millrick read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Dario Costante scored 1-0 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Narciso Millrick, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 78th minute Americo Asteri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narciso Millrick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Americo Asteri came free, but Narciso Millrick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Americo Asteri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Narciso Millrick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dario Costante might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Narciso Millrick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dario Costante ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 92nd minute, Americo Asteri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Narciso Millrick was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After a rather tough play, Stalkers's Jonas Chorche got a free kick in the 96th minute. Ruperto Benet took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 97th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jeronimo Lucila. Stalkers's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
