The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Loreto's Florentino Lano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Balesio in the 3rd minute of play. Melchor Ibañez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florentino Lano having to interfere. Raimundo Balesio scored 1-0 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Florentino Lano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Balesio in the 21st minute of play forced Loreto's goalkeeper Florentino Lano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Loreto's goalkeeper Florentino Lano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Melchor Ibañez. Celta's Eduardo Jakobe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teofilo Dantel in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Celta's Raimundo Balesio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Florentino Lano. Florentino Lano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 30th match minute, Celta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hilario Luix to maneuver through the defense. If Melchor Ibañez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melchor Ibañez in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Florentino Lano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Joel Sugoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melchor Ibañez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raimundo Balesio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 49 minutes of play, Celta's Melchor Ibañez made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Florentino Lano was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teofilo Dantel made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Celta's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Sugoi came free, but Eduardo Jakobe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thomas Delaney lost his temper 62 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Celta a penalty, 64 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Roman Goizeder, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Loreto's Florentino Lano. 4-0. In the 67th minute Raimundo Balesio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Lano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Raimundo Balesio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Florentino Lano was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. After having played for 79 minutes, Dionisio Ovando managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Loreto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dionisio Ovando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Raimundo Balesio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florentino Lano having to interfere. Florentino Lano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Melchor Ibañez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Florentino Lano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Melchor Ibañez in the 90th minute of play. Joel Sugoi struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Eduardo Jakobe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Loreto. When Eliseo Beila fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Celta's protests and gave Eliseo Beila a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th match minute, Celta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Beila to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Loreto getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Aurelio Jenaro hit a great ball. Melchor Ibañez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Celta had won after a very even match.
