Buchanan's Victor Rik suffered a concussion in the 6th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Godfredo Transito during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Buchanan booed when Margarita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godfredo Transito didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Buchanan getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Casimiro Neron hit a great ball. 12 minutes into the match, Margarita's Elvio Misael broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 14 minutes, Elvio Misael mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Margarita and the Buchanan players grew even worse after the yellow card. 14 minutes into the game, one of Margarita:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 20th minute, Margarita's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Herminio Cortez fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Bernardino Teyo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Herminio Cortez was extremely unlucky when he, in the 23rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. A collision led to Margarita getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Timoteo Vedillo hit a great ball. Herminio Cortez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Hernan Lluc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Herminio Cortez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Esteban Mano in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cornelio Iraido prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 44 minutes into the match, Margarita's Esteban Mano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cornelio Iraido narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 2-0 became the score in the 45th minute when Herminio Cortez elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Herminio Cortez to strike the kick off in the second half. Cornelio Iraido made an important save on a dangerous shot by Esteban Mano in the 56th minute. After having played for 60 minutes, Fabricio Camerino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Margarita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabricio Camerino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Herminio Cortez struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Hernan Lluc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buchanan. Esteban Mano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Iraido having to interfere. Hernan Lluc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herminio Cortez in the 70th minute of the match. Herminio Cortez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Hernan Lluc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Elvio Misael hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Buchanan's Herminio Cortez got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Herminio Cortez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hernan Lluc read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. 84 minutes into the game, Herminio Cortez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Hernan Lluc was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Herminio Cortez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cornelio Iraido made an important save on a dangerous shot by Esteban Mano in the 96th minute. Buchanan's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
