It was a penalty for Brandsen! Walter Samuel shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Brandsen's Higinio Pello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiburcio Chesus in the 35th minute of play. El Marroquí's Tiburcio Chesus got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 39 played minutes Brandsen got a freekick which was hit by Saul Raphael. Placido Bernard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Higinio Pello having to interfere. Higinio Pello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Placido Bernard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Placido Bernard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Brandsen's goalkeeper Higinio Pello had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tiburcio Chesus. Tiburcio Chesus struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Higinio Pello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Marroquí. In the 81st minute, Placido Bernard reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Higinio Pello. The goal made the score 0-2. After a rather tough play, Brandsen's Victorio Montrelle got a free kick in the 85th minute. In the 94th minute, El Marroquí's Placido Bernard dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. The Brandsen manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing El Marroquí to win.
