With a little luck, BUENOS AIRES F. C.'s Anastasio Sauveur got control of the ball when Tiburcio Chesus tried to sneak it across the goal line. BUENOS AIRES F. C.'s Anastasio Sauveur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Placido Bernard in the 24th minute of play. Anastasio Sauveur didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 30th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. Placido Bernard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anastasio Sauveur having to interfere. BUENOS AIRES F. C.'s Anastasio Sauveur proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save BUENOS AIRES F. C. from getting a goal against them. 39 minutes into the game, Gonzalo Fidele was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BUENOS AIRES F. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Marroquí the free kick. After 40 played minutes BUENOS AIRES F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Gonzalo Fidele. After having played for 41 minutes, Placido Bernard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Marroquí's supporters crossed their fingers, but Placido Bernard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tiburcio Chesus let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 47th minute shot 2-1 at rihgt post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Celestino Salomone struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Alexander Caniggia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BUENOS AIRES F. C.. After a defensive mix-up in BUENOS AIRES F. C.'s zone, Alvaro Tallia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anastasio Sauveur came out of the goal and Alvaro Tallia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Placido Bernard in the 61st minute of play forced BUENOS AIRES F. C.'s goalkeeper Anastasio Sauveur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute, Placido Bernard made a precise shot to the right of Anastasio Sauveur. BUENOS AIRES F. C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. After having played for 66 minutes, Alvaro Tallia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 68th match minute, BUENOS AIRES F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelino Camerino to maneuver through the defense. Placido Bernard took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anastasio Sauveur. Anastasio Sauveur dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Placido Bernard struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Anastasio Sauveur didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Marroquí. Anastasio Sauveur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Placido Bernard in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the game, El Marroquí's Tiburcio Chesus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anastasio Sauveur made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. 83 minutes into the match, Placido Bernard notched a goal, 6-1, to the right of BUENOS AIRES F. C.'s Anastasio Sauveur. Anastasio Sauveur was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gonzalo Fidele was shown his second yellow card after 86 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 88 minutes into the match, El Marroquí's Walter Samuel broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. BUENOS AIRES F. In the 97th minute, Placido Bernard left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El Marroquí fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-1. There was no doubt that El Marroquí were the better team. El Marroquí's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
