Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Agustin Mendiko started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's defense didn't have a chance, in the 7th minute, when Celestino Marques scored to the left of an out of position Ignacio Acuña, making the score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Rami in the 10th minute of play forced Brandsen's goalkeeper Higinio Pello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Agustin Mendiko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brandsen's supporters rose to their feet, but Agustin Mendiko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ignacio Acuña breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abelardo Avellaneda kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. The supporters of Gimnasia y Esgrima LP booed when Brandsen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorio Montrelle didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Agustin Mendiko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brandsen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agustin Mendiko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Higinio Pello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artemio Cambranes in the 27th minute of play. Cristian Argoitz kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Brandsen's Aquiles Sadurni sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ignacio Acuña narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ignacio Acuña took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustin Mendiko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cirilo Boniel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's goalkeeper Ignacio Acuña had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cirilo Boniel. Cirilo Boniel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rigoberto Gutierrez hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Higinio Pello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artemio Cambranes in the 44th minute of play. If Agustin Mendiko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Israel Azibar's shot from long distance in the 48th minute was not bad at all, but Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's Ignacio Acuña knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elpidio Tolino made a kick off. Victorio Montrelle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ignacio Acuña having to interfere. Ildefonso Orlan hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Higinio Pello made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Artemio Cambranes sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 62 minutes, Agustin Mendiko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brandsen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agustin Mendiko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ignacio Acuña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victorio Montrelle in the 83rd minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Cirilo Boniel notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's Ignacio Acuña. Ignacio Acuña was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's zone, Agustin Mendiko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ignacio Acuña came out of the goal and Agustin Mendiko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's Ignacio Acuña played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorio Montrelle in the 96th minute of play. In the 97th minute of the match Brandsen got a corner. Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Aquiles Sadurni ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Brandsen had played much better football throughout.
