Cristobal Peter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Guillelmus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristobal Peter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Guillelmus, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Alfonso Meder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Isidro Gorri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isidro Gorri made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Alfonso Meder sent off a good shot on target. Isidro Gorri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciro Orlo in the 34th minute of play. Alvaro Frechoso hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 39th match minute, C. A. River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enzo Poncio to maneuver through the defense. Niceto Naelio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafael Guillelmus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristobal Peter having to interfere. The supporters of Club Atletico River Plate booed when C. A. River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeledon Cordarrell didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Club Atletico River Plate's Arnaldo Austin tried to score from far away in the 48th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Cristobal Peter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Guillelmus in the 55th minute of play. Niceto Naelio took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristobal Peter. Cristobal Peter dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Club Atletico River Plate's Isidro Gorri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Meder in the 64th minute of play. Ciro Orlo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of C. A. River Plate booed when Club Atletico River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Delmar Lonzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ciro Orlo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Isidro Gorri having to make a save. After 72 played minutes C. A.
