Gualterio Matthew received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Fernan Garci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Beturian in the 6th minute of play forced Melville's goalkeeper Fernan Garci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernan Garci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andres Confesor in the 8th minute of play. After some careless play in the Chañar defense, Eulalio Veto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ruperto Leizarraga. The Chañar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ruperto Leizarraga should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Chañar getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Ubaldo Mantzio hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the game, Eulalio Veto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ruperto Leizarraga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jose Corderun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Ruperto Leizarraga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eusebio Lano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 25 minutes, Eulalio Veto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Melville's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eulalio Veto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fernan Garci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danilo Beturian in the 32nd minute of the match. Fernan Garci didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andres Confesor went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Fernan Garci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ubaldo Mantzio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andres Confesor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Fernan Garci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jose Corderun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andres Confesor to strike the kick off in the second half. Ruperto Leizarraga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eulalio Veto in the 61st minute of the match. Melville's defense didn't have a chance, in the 68th minute, when Andres Confesor scored to the left of an out of position Fernan Garci, making the score, 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Danilo Beturian got free with Fernan Garci in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 76 minutes of play Chañar's Ubaldo Mantzio was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 77 played minutes Chañar got a freekick which was hit by Ubaldo Mantzio. Uriel Abancens, 77 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The supporters of Melville booed when Chañar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danilo Beturian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ruperto Leizarraga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eulalio Veto's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Chañar fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 89th minute. Penalty! Ruperto Leizarraga went to the wrong direction when Uriel Abancens was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Chañar's zone, Ivan Pacorro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruperto Leizarraga came out of the goal and Ivan Pacorro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jose Corderun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ruperto Leizarraga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. In the 96thth minute of the game Eulalio Veto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chañar's Ruperto Leizarraga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Melville players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
