The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Americo Che fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Frantzes having to interfere. Jairo Frantzes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Epifanio Telesforo's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elias Dei during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 0-1 became the score in the 16th minute when Americo Che elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Jairo Frantzes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Americo Che in the 19th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in San Lorenzo De Almagro's zone, Fulgencio Gaizko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cirilo Naike came out of the goal and Fulgencio Gaizko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 27 minutes, Cecilio Havier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Lorenzo De Almagro and the Ranelagh players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th minute, Cecilio Havier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 29 minutes, Eulalio Aznaro made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ranelagh's Jairo Frantzes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Americo Che in the 45th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Americo Che made a kick off. San Lorenzo De Almagro's Cirilo Naike played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eulalio Aznaro in the 53rd minute of play. Eulalio Aznaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Esteve Umbruso hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute Epifanio Telesforo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Frantzes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jimeno Tulio kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. When Fulgencio Gaizko came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Ranelagh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fulgencio Gaizko couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulgencio Gaizko in the 90th minute of play forced San Lorenzo De Almagro's goalkeeper Cirilo Naike to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
