After a defensive mix-up in Talleres FC's zone, Dionisio Rafel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Honorio Maria came out of the goal and Dionisio Rafel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dionisio Rafel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Honorio Maria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto Mark blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Honorio Maria having to make a save. Honorio Maria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Mark, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 26 minutes, Rodolfo Osorio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vancouver and the Talleres FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 26th minute, Rodolfo Osorio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gilberto Firme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd match minute, Vancouver was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Osorio to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Talleres FC's Lino Indalecio tried to score from far away in the 33rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Amadeo Lore charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amadeo Lore the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 38 played minutes Vancouver got a freekick which was hit by Amadeo Lore. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vancouver's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lino Indalecio was slow to take the kick. During this time Talleres FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Talleres FC's Lino Indalecio to fire away a dangerous shot which Gustavo Poz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Talleres FC's Emilio Jurgi got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilberto Firme struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The audience was convinced that Raimundo Emmanuel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Honorio Maria was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Gustavo Poz acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 90th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Romeo Piearres. If Emilio Jurgi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
