The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 minutes, Fabio Valiente made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Las Estrellas Rojas's Ambrosio Tano tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 8th match minute, Desgarro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Ursino to maneuver through the defense. If Jimeno Elequemedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ambrosio Tano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alejo Natal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th match minute, Las Estrellas Rojas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Pes to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute Fabio Valiente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ambrosio Tano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Desgarro FC's Alejo Natal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ambrosio Tano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carmelo Benino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Medero in the 30th minute of play. After 30 played minutes Desgarro FC got a freekick which was hit by Fermin Veronica. Arturo Pes kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Evaristo Abaurre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Desgarro FC's Gilberto Otsando tried to score from far away in the 36th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Carmelo Benino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Medero in the 42nd minute of the match. Camilo Intxixu charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Intxixu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 43rd minute, Camilo Intxixu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Las Estrellas Rojas's Jimeno Elequemedo got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ramon Ferrer fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Desgarro FC's protests and gave Ramon Ferrer a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Desgarro FC's Ramon Ferrer got a free kick in the 46th minute. Fabian Medero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Jimeno Elequemedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carmelo Benino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jimeno Elequemedo ran back to his position shaking his head. Ambrosio Tano was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Lisandro Mark. Las Estrellas Rojas's Ambrosio Tano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Las Estrellas Rojas from getting a goal against them. Fabio Valiente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 0-2 came through a penalty shot after 80 played minutes, when Desgarro FC:s Gilberto Otsando calmly waited for Las Estrellas Rojas:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. In the 84th minute, Camilo Intxixu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Desgarro FC booed when Las Estrellas Rojas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albino Cutberto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute Fabian Medero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carmelo Benino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th match minute, Desgarro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Ursino to maneuver through the defense. In the 98th minute the ball was on its way in behind Desgarro FC's goalkeeper Carmelo Benino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Desgarro FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
