When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Saturnino Sansone sped through Defensores RAE's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cornelio Eneto. In the 21st minute Saturnino Sansone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelio Eneto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No goal. 43 minutes into the match, Defensores RAE's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Lluis came free, but Cornelio Eneto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute, Defensores RAE's Zacarias Romildo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hermengildo Tohias. Hermengildo Tohias yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. After the first half Gil AFC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zacarias Romildo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Adolfo Formerio struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Hermengildo Tohias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Defensores RAE. If Ivan Lluis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
