An unexpectedly hard shot by Teobaldo Osorio in the 12th minute of play forced La Academia 's goalkeeper Gonzalo Abaunza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aquiles Soin in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gonzalo Abaunza saved La Academia from getting behind. When Teobaldo Osorio came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Deportivo Pulqui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teobaldo Osorio couldn't finish the play. In the 22nd minute, Emilio Fe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Deportivo Pulqui's goalkeeper Isaac Dominguez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Godfredo Chuse. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Aquiles Soin sped through La Academia 's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gonzalo Abaunza. Gonzalo Abaunza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teobaldo Osorio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Deportivo Pulqui's Teobaldo Osorio got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Aquiles Soin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gonzalo Abaunza. La Academia 's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aquiles Soin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2.

Aquiles Soin made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 57thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Gonzalo Abaunza would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After 59 minutes, Mateo Sindo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Academia and the Deportivo Pulqui players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 60th minute, Mateo Sindo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Deportivo Pulqui fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when Deportivo Pulqui's Aquiles Soin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Isaac Dominguez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Higinio Arias charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Higinio Arias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 77th match minute, La Academia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Higinio Arias to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 78 minutes, Teobaldo Osorio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Pulqui's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teobaldo Osorio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Teobaldo Osorio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aquiles Soin took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gonzalo Abaunza. Gonzalo Abaunza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After a rather tough play, La Academia 's Vinicio Fraco got a free kick in the 94th minute. If Aquiles Soin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deportivo Pulqui played a much better game than La Academia and deserved their victory. The La Academia players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
