After a defensive mix-up in vacajrs's zone, Gervasio Precioso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 25 minutes into the game, EL OESTE FC RP's Fernando Gaitan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alonzo Chan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Rene Perrando blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Denis Oxel having to make a save.
