In the 27th minute, Verdinegros San Juan's Simon Basualdo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Serafin Beltxe. Serafin Beltxe yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. 30 minutes into the game, Simon Basualdo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Verdinegros San Juan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atahona FC the free kick. In the 30th minute, Simon Basualdo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cayetano Manuelo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Serafin Beltxe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 34th minute of the match Simon Basualdo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Simon Basualdo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Verdinegros San Juan's Simon Basualdo got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atahona FC's goalkeeper Serafin Beltxe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cayetano Manuelo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Serafin Beltxe having to make a save. Fidel Iztal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Urbano Federigo went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cayetano Manuelo made a kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Rodolfo Cordera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fidel Iztal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Urbano Federigo in the 79th minute. A collision led to Verdinegros San Juan getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Gerardo Artizar hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Rodolfo Cordera managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atahona FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Cordera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fidel Iztal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Cordera in the 86th minute of play forced Verdinegros San Juan's goalkeeper Fidel Iztal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 90 minutes, Rodolfo Cordera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
