Verdinegros San Juan's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Maximiliano Erramu in the 4th minute. After taking down the ball on Verdinegros San Juan's corner Maximiliano Erramu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Norberto Abaurre quite easily take care of the ball. After 5 played minutes Verdinegros San Juan got a freekick which was hit by Maximiliano Erramu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godofredo Cordarryl in the 14th minute of play forced Verdinegros San Juan's goalkeeper Fidel Iztal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute Simon Basualdo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Abaurre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arturo Reno hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 28thth minute of the game Cipriano Ferdinand who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Verdinegros San Juan's Fidel Iztal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Cipriano Ferdinand came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Piñalitos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cipriano Ferdinand couldn't finish the play. Fidel Iztal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucero Calvo in the 45th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Simon Basualdo was the one to do the kick off. Godofredo Cordarryl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Fidel Iztal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute Simon Basualdo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Abaurre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Verdinegros San Juan booed when Piñalitos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucero Calvo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Norberto Abaurre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cayetano Manuelo in the 62nd minute of the match. With a little luck, Verdinegros San Juan's Fidel Iztal got control of the ball when Cipriano Ferdinand tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cipriano Ferdinand took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fidel Iztal. Fidel Iztal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Cipriano Ferdinand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidel Iztal having to interfere. In the 80th minute Cayetano Manuelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Abaurre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes in the game, Godofredo Cordarryl fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Fidel Iztal having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Verdinegros San Juan's zone, Cipriano Ferdinand stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fidel Iztal came out of the goal and Cipriano Ferdinand tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godofredo Cordarryl in the 92nd minute of play forced Verdinegros San Juan's goalkeeper Fidel Iztal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
