Carlos Birjaio's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 25thth minute, Amancio Estebe skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. La maquina de River Plate's Genaro Rumaldo got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Armando Dabi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justino Mambru having to interfere. Armando Dabi struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Justino Mambru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La maquina de River Plate. Rejunte AC's Carlos Birjaio got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Justino Mambru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Dabi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Genaro Rumaldo came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the La maquina de River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Genaro Rumaldo couldn't finish the play. If Carlos Birjaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Rejunte AC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. La maquina de River Plate were winning 0-1.

58 minutes into the match, Carlos Birjaio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amancio Estebe. La maquina de River Plate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Birjaio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Rejunte AC's Justino Mambru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Rejunte AC from getting a goal against them. Genaro Rumaldo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justino Mambru having to interfere. Justino Mambru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Armando Dabi in the 66th minute. Genaro Rumaldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Justino Mambru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of La maquina de River Plate booed when Rejunte AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Israel Aureo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rejunte AC's Ricardo Jerardo got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Birjaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amancio Estebe having to interfere. After having played for 95 minutes, Joel Aznar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La maquina de River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Aznar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. La maquina de River Plate had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
