An unexpectedly hard shot by Generoso Tavio in the 13th minute of play forced Quilquihue Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Leo Evangelista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Generoso Tavio scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leo Evangelista, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 16th minute Generoso Tavio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Evangelista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marlboro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zeledon Elazar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leo Evangelista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 28 minutes, Severiano Santana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marlboro FC and the Quilquihue Fútbol Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Abelardo Ado, 29 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 31st minute Basilio Gurutz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Gaizko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Quilquihue Fútbol Club's Basilio Gurutz got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 40 minutes, Basilio Gurutz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quilquihue Fútbol Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basilio Gurutz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnulfo Paul hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Quilquihue Fútbol Club's zone, Generoso Tavio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leo Evangelista came out of the goal and Generoso Tavio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Quilquihue Fútbol Club's Eriberto Uhin got a free kick in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Generoso Tavio was the one to do the kick off. Quilquihue Fútbol Club's Leo Evangelista proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Quilquihue Fútbol Club from getting a goal against them. Laureano Gorka received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Leo Evangelista came out and tried to block the shot, but Laureano Gorka slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 55th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Marlboro FC's zone, Basilio Gurutz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. In the 63rd minute, Zeledon Elazar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marlboro FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 0-4 became the score in the 68th minute when Generoso Tavio elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Armin Karja had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute, Arnulfo Paul hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 80 minutes, Zeledon Elazar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marlboro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zeledon Elazar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quilquihue Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Leo Evangelista, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leo Evangelista made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Zeledon Elazar sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Marlboro FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Laureano Gorka hit a great ball. Leo Evangelista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeledon Elazar in the 96th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Marlboro FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
