In the 7th minute Cornelio Gonsalvo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Frasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Villa Crespo's Domingos Fagildo got a free kick in the 14th minute. After 17 minutes, Luciano Eutor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DE VELEZ YO SOY and the Villa Crespo players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to DE VELEZ YO SOY getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Luciano Eutor hit a great ball. Villa Crespo's Oscar Frasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cornelio Gonsalvo in the 20th minute of play. Braulio Paskal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Domingos Fagildo charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Domingos Fagildo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Villa Crespo getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Domingos Fagildo hit a great ball. Oscar Frasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cornelio Gonsalvo, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. When Aristides Gabirel came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the DE VELEZ YO SOY fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aristides Gabirel couldn't finish the play. 35 minutes into the game, Cornelio Gonsalvo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Oscar Frasco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rodolfo Ubarna's late challenge caught a DE VELEZ YO SOY's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodolfo Ubarna helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of DE VELEZ YO SOY booed when Villa Crespo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolfo Ubarna didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half DE VELEZ YO SOY were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cornelio Gonsalvo to strike the kick off in the second half. Cornelio Gonsalvo struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Oscar Frasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DE VELEZ YO SOY. If Maximiliano Rey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Villa Crespo's Rodolfo Ubarna got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute, Cornelio Gonsalvo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Rey in the 70th minute of play forced DE VELEZ YO SOY's goalkeeper Angelino Lartaun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oscar Frasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cornelio Gonsalvo in the 74th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maximiliano Rey in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angelino Lartaun prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cornelio Gonsalvo struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Oscar Frasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DE VELEZ YO SOY. After a defensive mix-up in Villa Crespo's zone, Cornelio Gonsalvo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Frasco came out of the goal and Cornelio Gonsalvo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 91 minutes of play Villa Crespo's Domingos Fagildo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Villa Crespo's Oscar Frasco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Villa Crespo from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute of the match, Cornelio Gonsalvo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Oscar Frasco saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Aristides Gabirel who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 98thth minute tested the skills of Oscar Frasco when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The DE VELEZ YO SOY supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing DE VELEZ YO SOY would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
