Elpidio Osasun made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nemesio Ursino in the 3rd minute. A collision led to Salto AFC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Serafino Conrao hit a great ball. Fidel Lorien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Elpidio Osasun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Salto AFC booed when La Gota FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Theobald didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosme Medardo in the 17th minute of play forced La Gota FC's goalkeeper Gervasio Lixandro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emiliano Afonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fidel Lorien in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elpidio Osasun prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fidel Lorien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nemesio Ursino struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Elpidio Osasun didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Gota FC. In the 36th minute Cosme Medardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gervasio Lixandro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Salto AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Fidel Lorien came free, but Elpidio Osasun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cosme Medardo made a kick off. Nemesio Ursino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elpidio Osasun having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Salto AFC's Saturnino Estebe got a free kick in the 57th minute. Serafino Conrao charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Serafino Conrao the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th minute, Serafino Conrao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Cosme Medardo put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Gervasio Lixandro. Gervasio Lixandro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosme Medardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Baldomiro Bide kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Gervasio Lixandro acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 70th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Pascual Vincente. Elpidio Osasun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nemesio Ursino in the 80th minute of play. In the 85th minute, Fidel Lorien left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The La Gota FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. If Nemesio Ursino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Salto AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Salto AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
