Jose Saturnin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nemesio Pierres having to make a save. In the 12th minute Herminio Martino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Cortez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isidro Cortez was a little too slow when Pascual Giro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 1-0. The audience was convinced that Herminio Martino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Isidro Cortez was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Jose Saturnin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the match, Aureliano Gilabert had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Isidro Cortez. Cienaguita's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aureliano Gilabert was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. CHIO F.C.'s Nemesio Pierres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Saturnin in the 34th minute of play. In the 38th minute Jose Saturnin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nemesio Pierres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Angelino Millano came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Cienaguita fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angelino Millano couldn't finish the play. Jose Saturnin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the game, Angelino Millano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Nemesio Pierres was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Herminio Martino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cienaguita's Prospero Umea got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind CHIO F.C.'s goalkeeper Nemesio Pierres, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Angelino Millano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cienaguita's Jose Saturnin got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Herminio Martino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Andres Abel came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Cienaguita fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andres Abel couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Andres Abel took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Nemesio Pierres to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Andres Abel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cienaguita's supporters rose to their feet, but Andres Abel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nemesio Pierres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cienaguita's Andres Abel was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 77th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Andres Abel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nemesio Pierres having to interfere. Cienaguita's Andres Abel got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 85 minutes into the match, Cienaguita's Andres Abel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nemesio Pierres narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, CHIO F.C.'s Nemesio Pierres got control of the ball when Angelino Millano tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cienaguita's Angelino Millano got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 95th minute, CHIO F.C.'s goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jose Saturnin fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.
