Conrado Umea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Galo having to interfere. Andres Sabin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marco Galo having to make a save. Conrado Umea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicanor Checa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximiliano Munio having to interfere. Conrado Umea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Marco Galo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teo Eate's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maximiliano Munio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ballester FC's zone, Andres Sabin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Galo came out of the goal and Andres Sabin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teo Eate stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Islas's Maximiliano Munio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teo Eate in the 51st minute of play. Maximiliano Munio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teo Eate, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute, Pascual Phelipe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teo Eate in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maximiliano Munio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 60th minute Teo Eate shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximiliano Munio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ballester FC's Teo Eate got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Maximiliano Munio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teo Eate in the 87th minute of the match. If Nicanor Checa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicanor Checa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maximiliano Munio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. The Islas players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
