The audience thought a goal was coming when Higinio Manni got free with Fabricio Oliverio in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fabricio Oliverio came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Mercedes's Higinio Manni. But to his dismay, Higinio Manni quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Eudoxio in the 40th minute of play forced Romanticos FC's goalkeeper Fabricio Oliverio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Feliciano Luzea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Romanticos FC's Fabricio Oliverio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Higinio Manni in the 65th minute of play. The coaching staff of Romanticos FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Efrain Ihazintu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Romanticos FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 78th minute. Penalty! Higinio Manni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabricio Oliverio having to interfere. Fabricio Oliverio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Higinio Manni in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute Feliciano Luzea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabricio Oliverio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabricio Oliverio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Higinio Manni, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 90 minutes in the game Raul Ereinotz did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Higinio Manni. In the 91st match minute, Mercedes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feliciano Luzea to maneuver through the defense. Higinio Manni was shown his second yellow card after 94 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Mercedes's Higinio Manni got a free kick in the 95th minute. The Mercedes players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
