The corner was taken by Hernan Checa in the 9th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Blas Froila was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buenos Aires's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Providencia AFC the free kick. Evaristo Soter went to the wrong direction when Hernan Checa was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgardo Iratxo during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Evaristo Soter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernan Checa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evaristo Soter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernan Checa in the 21st minute of the match. A collision led to Buenos Aires getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Epifanio Larra hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernan Checa in the 24th minute of play forced Buenos Aires's goalkeeper Evaristo Soter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Genaro Ticho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dalmacio Chorache got free with Baltasar Iraitz in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dalmacio Chorache hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute, Buenos Aires's Dalmacio Chorache ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Baltasar Iraitz. Baltasar Iraitz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 45 minutes into the match, Providencia AFC's Genaro Ticho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Evaristo Soter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dalmacio Chorache to make the kick off. 52 minutes in the game Braulio Otsando did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Hernan Checa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmacio Chorache in the 57th minute of play forced Providencia AFC's goalkeeper Baltasar Iraitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hernan Checa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evaristo Soter having to interfere. Hernan Checa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Evaristo Soter made a huge save. Buenos Aires's Evaristo Soter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genaro Ticho in the 71st minute of play. After some careless play in the Providencia AFC defense, Dalmacio Chorache kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Baltasar Iraitz. The Providencia AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Baltasar Iraitz should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Genaro Ticho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Providencia AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Genaro Ticho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Evaristo Soter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Evaristo Soter made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Hernan Checa sent off a good shot on target. Hernan Checa, 96 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Providencia AFC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Buenos Aires had won, even though Providencia AFC had held more of the ball.
