Spectators: 6655 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1655, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Astor Mannie kicked off to start the match. In the 10th minute Astor Mannie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anibal Chale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bonifacio Kelemen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Anibal Chale when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Anibal Chale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Astor Mannie in the 16th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Filiberto Felipillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Virila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Bonifacio Kelemen came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Tafí AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bonifacio Kelemen couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Astor Mannie in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anibal Chale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tafí AFC's goalkeeper Alberto Virila, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filiberto Felipillo in the 33rd minute of play forced Tafí AFC's goalkeeper Alberto Virila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Ruben Alonso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Velez Sarsfield fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Tafí AFC's Alberto Virila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Alonso in the 40th minute of play. Bonifacio Kelemen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Velez Sarsfield! Benigno Gaur placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out!

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Filiberto Felipillo to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match, Filiberto Felipillo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alberto Virila saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 54th match minute, Tafí AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Estevez to maneuver through the defense. Alberto Virila stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filiberto Felipillo's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. 57 minutes into the match, Tafí AFC's goalkeeper Alberto Virila had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ruben Alonso. If Bonifacio Kelemen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute, Filiberto Felipillo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Bonifacio Kelemen struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Anibal Chale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tafí AFC. The supporters of Tafí AFC booed when Velez Sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paolo Piarres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anibal Chale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bonifacio Kelemen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filiberto Felipillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filiberto Felipillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Virila having to interfere. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Bonifacio Kelemen sped through Velez Sarsfield's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Anibal Chale. After having played for 82 minutes, Filiberto Felipillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Velez Sarsfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filiberto Felipillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 84 minutes, Ruben Alonso made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Tafí AFC's Alberto Virila tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Tafí AFC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Jonas Natanael hit a great ball. Bonifacio Kelemen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Chale having to interfere. Bonifacio Kelemen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Velez Sarsfield supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Velez Sarsfield would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
