Edgardo Muc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leo Abastas having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 20th minute by Edgardo Muc got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Edgardo Muc might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leo Abastas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgardo Muc ran back to his position shaking his head. Donato Confesor charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Donato Confesor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Colon booed when El Piringundín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Confesor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leo Abastas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Nahia in the 29th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Nahia got free with Leo Abastas in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nicanor Arias hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Edgardo Muc managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colon's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgardo Muc was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leo Abastas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Colon's zone, Paulo Perutxo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolfo Txilar came out of the goal and Paulo Perutxo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Constantino Arce came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the El Piringundín fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Constantino Arce couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Rodolfo Txilar came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by El Piringundín's Remigio Ibar. But to his dismay, Remigio Ibar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Edgardo Muc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. El Piringundín's Leo Abastas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Muc in the 59th minute of play. If Pedro Nahia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Nahia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leo Abastas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Muc in the 68th minute of play. Constantino Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Baldomero Urtats took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Leo Abastas. El Piringundín's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Colon's Pedro Nahia got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Constantino Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Piringundín's supporters rose to their feet, but Constantino Arce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodolfo Txilar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Colon's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when Constantino Arce scored to the left of an out of position Rodolfo Txilar, making the score, 0-2. El Piringundín's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
