Ernesto Farias hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. If Roque Abadie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cosme Merexildo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Patrido having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, club atl jorge newbery's goalkeeper Donato Patrido had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cosme Merexildo. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Cosme Merexildo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético River BR's supporters rose to their feet, but Cosme Merexildo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donato Patrido didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cosme Merexildo went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. With a little luck, club atl jorge newbery's Donato Patrido got control of the ball when Cosme Merexildo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Club Atlético River BR's Roque Abadie got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th match minute, club atl jorge newbery was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nereo Corderro to maneuver through the defense. 40 minutes into the match, Club Atlético River BR's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquin Loiola came free, but Francisco Austin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. club atl jorge newbery's Salvador Gutierrez got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roque Abadie made a kick off. Joaquin Loiola succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 53rd playminute. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético River BR's zone, Salvador Gutierrez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francisco Austin came out of the goal and Salvador Gutierrez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 73 minutes into the match, Joaquin Loiola notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Club Atlético River BR's Francisco Austin. Francisco Austin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cosme Merexildo took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Donato Patrido. Donato Patrido dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. If Roque Abadie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquin Loiola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacinto Damario thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Donato Patrido, a very annoying self made goal in the 92nd minute which led to 3-2. Salvador Gutierrez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Francisco Austin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Salvador Gutierrez's shot from short distance in the 98th minute. Club Atlético River BR's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
