Epifanio Gaskon went to the cornerflag to take it. Bernabe Galsino came free with the goalkeeper in the 18th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Francisco Austin could save by the left post. Bernabe Galsino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Austin having to interfere. Club Atlético River BR's Francisco Austin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Evis in the 22nd minute of play. Amadeo Sabin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roque Abadie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amadeo Sabin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosme Merexildo, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Club Atlético River BR's Francisco Austin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Evis in the 45th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alvaro Evis to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Club Atlético River BR booed when Goicó was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavio Iago didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernabe Galsino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Epifanio Gaskon hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Amadeo Sabin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Goicó were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
