Spectators: 7142 (Terracing: 5390, Seating: 1652, VIP seats: 100) Merced FC's Florencio Belo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gilbert Björkkvist made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Artemio Ferran sent off a good shot on target. Artemio Ferran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Florencio Belo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Israel Serapio having to make a save. With a little luck, Merced FC's Gilbert Björkkvist got control of the ball when Artemio Ferran tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Bernardo Mannuel fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carpintería's protests and gave Bernardo Mannuel a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Carpintería's Bernardo Mannuel got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute Christian Gelacio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilbert Björkkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Placido Rio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carpintería's Israel Serapio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florencio Belo in the 25th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Merced FC's zone, Christian Gelacio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilbert Björkkvist came out of the goal and Christian Gelacio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Placido Rio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Israel Serapio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Florencio Belo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Israel Serapio. Carpintería's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Florencio Belo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Placido Rio came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Merced FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Placido Rio couldn't finish the play. Gilbert Björkkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Gelacio in the 46th minute of the match. Merced FC's Florencio Belo got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Carpintería players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Merced FC were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Christian Gelacio made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Placido Rio notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Carpintería's Israel Serapio. Israel Serapio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Carpintería's zone, Florencio Belo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Israel Serapio came out of the goal and Florencio Belo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Gelacio struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Gilbert Björkkvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carpintería. Gilbert Björkkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artemio Ferran in the 67th minute of play. Artemio Ferran took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gilbert Björkkvist. Gilbert Björkkvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Artemio Ferran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilbert Björkkvist having to interfere. 89 minutes in the game, Florencio Belo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Israel Serapio having to interfere. Placido Rio took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Israel Serapio. Israel Serapio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Gelacio in the 96th minute of play forced Merced FC's goalkeeper Gilbert Björkkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Merced FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
